My niche is developing user experiences. From an elegant design that needs no explanation to a backend distributed architecture that makes the experience fast — it’s all about the user.

I believe that if the team uses “baby driven design” — that is: design so simple a baby knows what to do — the product will flourish and be profitable. Too many options and too many paths leave the user frustrated and mad.

A Software Developer by trade, I have 3 years of experience in executive management. I have 10+ years experience developing software for the web, including high performance and high availability, distributed systems. That’s honestly just a fancy way of saying I write things that work – even when stuff breaks.

I have significant technical expertise and thrive in both the Microsoft stack (C#/SQL Server) and the Free stack (Ruby/Rails/MySQL). I believe strongly in Agile Software Development and have ported its philosophies to general business management.

I have worn most of the hats you can wear in a company. In addition to running the product development, IT, and customer service functions, I’ve been the public face of a corporation, led a permission based marketing effort, embedded social media, and prepared internal financial reports.
